Thorp Perrow Arboretum and Bird of Prey Centre, Constable Burton gardens and Studley Royal deer park offer a more outdoors experience. Explore local history at Bolton Abbey or Richard III’s Middleham Castle, the Green Howard’s Museum or the World of James Herriot. 5 Milltop Cottage is a perfect base for walkers, ramblers and cyclists with many established public footpaths, riverside walks, cycle paths and bridleways that lead through some of the most unspoilt countryside that is Yorkshire. 

There are local pubs and restaurants just 10 minutes’ walk away in Richmond, which serve excellent food and drink, as well as shops with locally source produce. Despite our tranquil setting we are close to the A1 and A66.
